 The Golden Mean Group provides architectural design and planning, facility consulting, and strategic planning services to private, commercial and institutional clients throughout the United States. As a firm, we are comfortable wearing different hats, at different times, for different situations. But because of our blend of skills and project experiences, we are able to enhance a particular project engagement by calling upon those other skill sets and experiences.
To this end, as architects, project managers, and facility operators, we embrace the primacy of the classic tri-partite Owner-Architect-Constructor relationship. Acting as the Owner's Representative, then, we provide and maintain the critical links and bridges between the three primary parties. We believe strongly in the team approach to undertaking a project, and key to that is a clearly defined organizational structure that embraces not just the project principals, but their associates and subcontractors, as well as other interested constituents to the project.
We believe that effective, immediate communication is paramount to project success. Effective, in that we always seek the best means available, whether is is verbal, written or graphic. Immediate, in that there is never a good excuse to put off a phone call that can be made now. And we document everything. A complete and succinct history of the project is critical when the time comes to look back upon it.
We pride ourselves on our ability to embrace the big picture. But at the same time, we are also very, very good at taking care of all of the details of a complex capital project.
We use technology as a tool to extend our intellectual and experiential capabilities, but not as a end unto itself. Computers, the internet, and advanced software are nothing without the operators that use them. That said, we are facile and comfortable with all manner of CAD, database, project management, project estimating, and project scheduling software.
Finally, while we see ourselves first as architects, project managers, and administrators, we are – in reality – project leaders. The greatest investment in a project lies with the Owner; we take that responsibility seriously, and we protect that investment through our leadership of the project process. We are facilitators, not paper pushers. We ask questions for answers, not for the sake of asking. We lead by example, and in the end, we expect results.
